First things first: I hope y’all had an exceptional Fourth of July! Mine was spent with my dad’s side of the family at Legend Lake, one of my favorite places in the world.

I’m typing this post as I’m sitting on my bed, sporting ratty old PJs that have seen a better day, wearing a hauntingly pigmented green face mask, and indulging myself in chocolate covered berries that will wreak havoc on my acne tomorrow. Needless to say, I am not feeling too glamorous right now. However, I felt the urge to share the reality of my weeknights with you guys…

I have an extremely long, necessary nighttime ritual which includes removing my makeup, washing my face, applying a face mask (when I’m feeling fancy), taking a bath, moisturizing my skin, strategically placing my acne cream to diminish my stubborn pimples, brushing my hair until it’s as smooth as silk, and brushing it some more just for kicks. You could probably write a children’s book in the time it takes me to get ready for bed!

So many people are consumed with maintaining their image online that I think it’s time for a reality check (me including)! Comparing yourself to others will never make you feel better about yourself. It’s so critical in today’s day and age to emphasize your individuality and embrace your imperfections. Keep in mind: no one is perfect and everyone has insecurities, even people who seem to lead a picture perfect life. I’ve had my struggles with feeling insecure and the best way to deal with it is to mute the voices in your head telling you how you should look. The more you do this, the more confident you will feel.

Anyway, sorry for that rant, I just felt the need to share some of the thoughts pop into my mind when I’m trying to fall asleep. This whole outfit is from Olivia’s Boutique in Long Grove. Lynne styled this look and I totally love it. I honestly never wear white jeans, but these Miss Me jeans are too cute! The top is Free People (my FAVE!) and it’s perfect for a casual summer date or lunch with your girl squad. I would totally pair this dramatic top with a miniskirt for a more flirty look.

Lots of love, ice cream and hugs,

Paige

  1. Hi Paige, Love the coral blouse and maybe you don’t usually wear white jeans, but you should – they look adorable on you!  Every time I hear about the color coral, I think of grandma, because that’s her favorite color and it has been for a long time. Very cute poses and the pics are great.  Happy you had a good time in WI.  I stayed home but got together with David for lunch – things are going pretty well between us!  Nice to have a, as Ryan calls him, grandma’s boyfriend!  Speaking of boyfriends, how’s Wes doing? Well that’s all for now.  Loved the post and keep them coming.  I love each and every one of them.   Love you, AuntieXXXX
