I’m writing this at 9:00 a.m. so please forgive me if there are any typos in here… I wouldn’t call myself a morning person. Midterm exams start Monday but to be honest, I’m not feelin’ that prepared. Needless to say I will be spending much of my time at the library. I don’t mind it too much because it gives me a valid excuse to bum around in sweats all day and have that extra cup (or 2) of coffee.
This cream faux fur cape from Akira is one of my favorite staples for winter right now. Yes I know, it doesn’t offer much protection from the cold, but it’s so elegant and effortless that I had to incorporate it into my wardrobe! Besides, fashion can’t always be practical and cute. If you could tell, I shot for this post on the same day as the Biker Style blog. It was an unusually warm February afternoon so I had to take advantage and get some pics outside the Mill Pond Shops in Downtown Long Grove. Like I said before, there are so many awesome photo-ops in DTLG.
Back to the outfit… you can find the leather leggings (only $14) linked back to my previous post, Biker Style. I have to warn you though, they are pretty thin so I wouldn’t recommend wearing them on a day where you’ll be spending a lot of time outside! I love how they add sass to my outfit and contrast the feminine flair of the cape. I got the cape on sale at Akira so it is no longer available online but may be in stores still!
I have to say… this cape reminds me so much of one I wore about 15 years ago for a wedding:
How funny is that?! I love how style comes full-circle sometimes. If I were to recreate this look, I would probably do without the white gloves 😉 the tiara can stay.
I hope y’all have a wonderful week, I’ll be happy if I can get through these next few days without a mini breakdown!!
