Makeup Regime

Hi my name is Paige and I am a makeup addict.

Cosmetics are debatably my favorite things to shop for, whenever I walk into Sephora or Ulta I feel like a kid in a candy store. I could spend hours just testing different lip colors or perfumes. My bank account has really taken a hit this past year thanks to my dependency on liquid eyeliner.

One thing that I have never really been invested in is lipstick. My mom is constantly telling me to wear lipstick and until recently I haven’t been a big fan. I prefer wearing chapstick to moisturize my lips and I feel like traditional lipsticks dry my lips and make them feel chapped (which is the worst in the winter). One product that I could not live without is my 24 hour color stay lip stain by Maybelline. I wear it every. single. day. And unlike boys, it has never let me down.

I love these Sephora lipsticks. The best thing about them is that they are only $12.50 each. I was shopping for lipstick this past weekend and I had a $37 Yves Saint Laurent lipstick in my hand, ready for purchase. Then I started thinking about all of the Chipotle I could buy with $37 and swapped it out for the Sephora brand lipstick! Needless to say, I don’t have the Saint Laurent lipstick, but I did treat myself to a burrito!

I have been through so many eyeshadow palettes… I literally have an entire drawer filled with them (told ya I have a problem). However, despite all of the sets I purchased in the past, my all time favorite is the Lorac Pro Palette. The shadows are so pigmented and the colors are all very natural and wearable. Since I have hazel eyes, I love incorporating browns and pinks into my eye routine to make the green in my eyes pop. The best thing about this palette is the price. At $44, this product is so much cheaper than designer brands like Dior and Chanel. I would recommend this to anyone who is a beginner when it comes to makeup because the colors are super easy to blend and manipulate.

In my opinion, foundation is the hardest part of my makeup routine. I have had so many foundation fails in the past. However, thanks to the girls at Sephora, I found my perfect match: shade “nude” by Too Faced.

I find bronzer extremely necessary in my everyday makeup routine. I am naturally fair-skinned and I hate blending into the snow in the winter. Bronzer is something that you do not have to splurge on. In my opinion, all bronzer is created equally and gives you the subtle appearance of a tan. My fave is NYX. I use the contour palette as my bronzer because it offers several rich, warm tones of brown and I can change it up when I want a different look or go on vacation and get tanner. I also started using the Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour palette and I am finding it easier and easier to use with every application.

Highlighter is something that I recently discovered and let me tell you, it’s a gift sent from heaven. Seriously, if you want the perfect glow, you have to try Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit. It comes with four different colors ranging from a light, iridescent white, to a warm tan taupe. There is also a light pink that I apply over my blush and I find it to be extremely flattering!

Last but certainly not least, my lashes. I could spend 10 minutes every morning applying coat upon coat of mascara. I could not live without it. I feel like it just pulls your whole look together! I have experimented with several different types, but I am forever loyal to Smashbox’s “Full Exposure” mascara. It adds volume without clumping your lashes together and extends your lashes to the sky! However, if you’re not willing to spend $20+ dollars on a mascara, I recommend Maybelline’s “Great Lash” mascara. This iconic pink and green bottle has caught my eye ever since I was a little girl watching my mom apply her makeup in the A.M.
So that’s about it for my makeup routine, but I am constantly looking for an excuse to stop into Sephora and try out some new products, so if you have any recommendations, let me know! Happy Tuesday!
