OK- first off, how cute is this giant cookie cutter shape?! We got it from my favorite place, Homegoods. Yes it was an impulse buy, but my mom and I could not resist.
I am totally not a cook. I literally burn water. But something I love to do and consider myself to be quite skilled at, is baking. Growing up, the one prominent memory I have of early Christmas is making butter cookies with my mom. I warn you: these cookies are extremely addictive. The recipe was adapted from my great grandma, Ruth, and my mom has carried on the tradition every year. My extended family also raves about these bad boys… and to be honest they are really good. I could eat 6 or 7 in one sitting and when we would put them out on Christmas Eve, I would find myself wandering downstairs in the middle of the night and snagging a couple to eat in my room (Sorry Santa). We love making these because they are pretty easy and don’t take a long time to make. Low effort cookies are the best kind of cookies in my opinion. I encourage you to make a batch or two for your fam & friends, you won’t regret it 😉
Here’s the recipe:
